The Roosters have been dealt an early blow in their game with the Storm after a head knock forced Luke Keary from the field.
Elsewhere, the Cowboys will be without young gun backrower Heilum Luki after suffering a cruel ACL injury.
Payne Haas left the field in his side’s Round 14 clash with the Raiders alongside Herbier Farnworth and Adam Reynolds.
Meanwhile, Xavier Coates is set to miss eight weeks after suffering an ankle injury in the Origin series opener.

BRONCOS SUFFER TRIPLE BLOW
Payne Haas has suffered an AC joint injury, ruling him out of his side’s Round 14 clash against the Raiders.
“Big news out of the dressing rooms, Payne Haas is out of this game, he has done the AC joint in his right shoulder,” Fox League’s James Hooper said.
Haas has previously been sidelined after suffering a Grade 1 AC joint strain, injuring his left shoulder against the Sharks in Round 8.
Fox League’s Michael Ennis pointed out the Blues prop had a bandaid on his left shoulder, while injuring his right in Round 14.
“You can see the left one with the bandaid on it means he is probably already getting injections into the left one, now the right one is in trouble,” Ennis said.
Both Brad Fittler and Kevin Walters now have a nervous wait, but the Broncos injury woes continued with both Herbie Farnworth and Adam Reynolds leaving the field.
The veteran halfback is not expected to come back after injuring his ribs and was pictured heavily strapped on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Farnworth has suffered a bicep injury and is being assessed by the Broncos medical team.
ROOSTERS FACE NERVOUS KEARY WAIT
The Roosters suffered a big setback on Saturday night as five-eighth Luke Keary failed to return in the second half after copping a head knock.
Keary was trying to tackle Storm fullback Nick Meaney when he took an accidental knee to the head from teammate Joey Manu.
“He is not looking comfortable at all after coping that knee to the head,” Fox League’s Lara Pitt said on the sideline at the time.
Giving a further update ahead of the second half, Pitt confirmed Keary would take no further part in the game.
“He remains in the medical rooms with the Roosters’ medical staff right now,” she said.
“He came from the field after copping friendly fire, Joey Manu’s knee hitting him in the back of the head and he looked to be in great discomfort after the head knock. He came from the field rubbing the back of his head.
“This is of course a concern for the Roosters as Luke Keary suffered multiple head knocks over an 18-month period in 2018 and 2019. Two serious concussions in 2019 which ruled him out for an extended period. At the time the club took a very cautious approach with him.”
DCE’S SEA EAGLES SCARE
Sea Eagles star Daly Cherry-Evans has been ruled out of his side’s Round 14 clash against the Wests Tigers.
After playing a big role in the Maroons series opening win, the veteran halfback suffered a quad injury.
The severity of the injury is still unknown.
SIDELINE STINT COATS
Maroons and Storm winger Xavier Coates is set to miss eight weeks after suffering an ankle injury in the Origin series opener.
Coates was seen clutching at his left leg in the 29th minute after falling awkwardly in a tackle attempt.
The 21-year-old hobbled from the field and played no further part.
Now, Coates is set to miss the remainder of the Origin series and the Storm have confirmed he will undergo surgery on Monday according to Fox League’s Lara Pitt.
COWBOY’S CRUEL BLOW
Cowboys young gun Heilum Luki’s season is over after suffering a brutal injury against the Dragons.
The North Queensland side confirmed the 21-year-old suffered a torn ACL and will have surgery in the coming weeks.
“Not great news coming out of the Cowboys dressing shed about Heilum Luki they are saying it is an ACL,” Brent Tate said on Fox League.
“That is awful news. They will have to get scans to confirm that. But let’s hope that is not the news coming out of the Cowboys.”
BRONCOS PLAYMAKER OUT FOR A MONTH
The Broncos are set to be without five-eighth Tyson Gamble for a month due to stress fractures in his leg.
The Daily Telegraph reported Gamble sustained a stress fracture in his leg, which forced the Broncos to move halfback Ezra Mam to five-eighth following skipper Adam Reynolds’ return from a groin injury.
Meanwhile the Storm are sweating on scans on Maroons winger Xavier Coates’ injured ankle.
Xavier Coates will have scans on his ankle this evening following an injury in the first half of last night’s 2022 Origin opener,” the Storm said in a statement.
“The Storm and Maroons flyer, who was playing his sixth match in the Origin arena will see a specialist tomorrow (Friday).”
Meanwhile Queensland and Cowboys gun Jeremiah Nanai will miss Round 14 with an ankle injury despite coming back on in a heroic Origin I performance.
Broncos and Blues center Kotoni Staggs is also unlikely to play in Round 14 after sustaining a shoulder injury in his Origin debut.
Blues coach Brad Fittler was hopeful it as just a cork, but with a short turnaround Staggs will likely return in Round 15.
