Elon Musk’s father Errol makes wild claims that Elon Musk was neglected by his mum

Tesla founder Elon Musk’s scandal-hit father has made a series of wild claims about his billionaire son’s upbringing.

Elon Musk’s scandal-hit dad has wildly claimed that the SpaceX mogul was neglected while living with his mum.

Errol Musk claimed his son sometimes wouldn’t go to school as he made a series of allegations during a bombshell interview in South Africa.

Errol married his ex-wife Maye in 1970 after they had dated for six years. The pair divorced in 1979 after having three children together, Elon, Kimbal, and Tosca.

Tosca is successful in her own right and is the CEO of an erotic fan fiction site called Passionflix.

Elon and his siblings lived with Maye for the first eight years of his life.

Outside of being known as Elon’s dad, Errol Musk is a South African electromechanical engineer, pilot, and sailor.

During his sit-down chat with a psychologist known as Anneke, Errol claimed that on one occasion he received a call from his son’s school.

He claimed officials had threatened to call social services and even the police if he didn’t do “something about the condition of the boys.”

Errol alleged he learned his children would turn up to school dirty, fall asleep in class and ask for food.

“I was completely taken back,” he said.

“Elon sometimes never came to school. He would just walk around the neighborhood,” Errol claimed.

He also claimed that he received a call from a maid at one of their homes around the same time in which she told him that “she couldn’t take it anymore” as the kids were left with “no food”.

Errol revealed that Elon stayed with him for most of his primary school years until finishing high school.

In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Elon described his father as a “terrible human being” and claimed his childhood was “painful and isolated”.

Elon told the outlet that he was “raised by books, then his parents.”

He said: “I was off making explosives and reading books and building rockets and doing things that could have gotten me killed.

“I’m shocked that I have all my fingers.”

Elon claimed that his father ridiculed his love for computers, the Mail on Sunday reported.

Responding to the allegations, Errol said: “Elon has repeatedly told a story of me telling him computers were a waste of time.

“That’s untrue. Elon has been generous enough to admit that he inherited his scientific genius from me.”

‘Inherited genius’

Errol claimed that his son “pestered” him so he could go to a computing event when he was aged 11.

Researchers were unveiling an IBM Personal Computer.

Elon was part of a group of enthusiastic attendees that had stayed behind after the conference had finished to quiz developers.

One professor reportedly told Errol: “This boy needs to get one of these computers.”

In 2015, Errol told Forbes: “’You can ask Elon to do a lot of things on his computer but don’t ask him to catch a bus.’

He claimed his son was an “introvert thinker”.

Errol said: “So where a lot of people would go to a great party and have a great time and drink and talk about all sorts of things like rugby or sport, you would find Elon had found the person’s library and was going through their books ,”

The magnate’s father also made news in 2018 after it was revealed that he, then-72, had a child with his then-30-year-old former stepdaughter Jana Bezuidenhout, whom he’s known since she was four.

Errol was married to Jana’s mother Heide for 18 years and they had two children together.

‘Introverted’

Errol has said in the past that Elon lived with him until he finished high school.

Musk left South Africa and started a new life in Canada at the age of 17.

In 1995 he and his brother Kimbal started the software firm Zip2, which created internet city guides for the New York Times and Chicago Tribune.

Four years later, in February 1999, Compaq acquired the firm for $307 million in cash.

Musk pocketed $22 million for his seven percent share from the sale.

Later in 1999, he co-founded X.com — one of the world’s first online banks. The following year X.com merged with PayPal.

In 2002, PayPal was acquired by eBay for $1.5 billion in stock.

Musk — who held 11.7 percent of PayPal shares — received $165 million and a huge payday.

He founded Space X and Tesla before attempting to acquire the social media platform Twitter for $44 billion.

The deal is still not confirmed.
